Successful Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment

Prompt Testing made the Difference in my Outcome
"I was suffering for weeks with horrible sciatica and my doctors after weeks of having me go through physical therapy which only made it worse decided to have me get a NCV nerve test done to see what the problem was. Well the neurology offices that they sent me to told me that it would be at least six weeks before they could see me. I could not wait that long. After some searching I found Dr. Drew with NeuroTesting Group. He got me in right away and the test was fast and easy. It showed me that the condition was due to compression of my lumbar nerve and was getting worse and starting to form scar tissue. Dr. Drew recommended spinal decompression therapy and I think within the first several visits I noticed good improvement to my condition. After completing a series of the Decompression therapy over the course of the next several weeks I was close to good as new. I think this was about the same time the other office was going to be able to have me tested."

I Can’t Imagine Not Using His Services In My Office
"I have used Dr. Kandilakis and his neurologic testing and consulting service in my office for the last five years. His insight into my patient’s diagnosis and treatment options have made a world of difference. Invaluable at times. Often when you are treating patient and refining your diagnosis, there is a need to look into further diagnostic testing to really fully understand the condition. There have been many cases where NCV Nerve testing was really the only way I would have known where the problem was, how long it has been there, what is the level of nerve damage, and is it getting better with treatment. I can’t imagine not using his services in my office as it would be like driving while blind without them."

Undiagnosed Carpal Tunnel
“I’ve had numbness and tingling in both of my hands for the past three year which have got much worse. My doctor told me I had minor case of diabetes 5 years ago. I asked my doctor what he could do to help me. I told him I was a secretary for the last 25 years typing almost 8 hours a day and I asked him point blank, “Could it be carpal tunnel?” He responded, “I don’t know, it’s probably just your diabetes”. Well my diabetes medicine controlled my sugar level but has not helped reverse my numbness and tingling and pressure in my wrists and hands and I really wanted to find out if it was carpal tunnel. He wouldn’t refer me to get a Nerve EMG Test so I went on my own to NeuroTesting Group and had Dr. Kandilakis order it. I am so glad I did. The test showed I had moderate carpal tunnel and Dr. Drew suggested I see an orthopedic surgeon to have a diagnostic injection of steroid and anesthetics. He said it would determine if it was carpal tunnel and not from the diabetes. Boy I’m glad I did. One day after the injection in both wrists the pain and numbness went down tremendously. So now I know my problem is from carpal tunnel causing this and I can get it treated correctly."

Undiagnosed Cervical Disc Herniations Were Underlying Patient’s Extreme Headaches
“I was referred to the NeuroTesting Group and Dr. Kandilakis by my doctor to evaluate my headaches after I had nothing show up on MRI of my head while my internist just kept giving me headache medicine that worked only a little sometimes. I was miserable with frequent extreme headaches, and every time I moved the pounding in my head was unbearable. The first thing Dr. Kandilakis did was ask if I ever got an X-ray of my neck. I never had one and no doctor ever suggested that my headaches could be coming from a neck condition. Dr. Drew ordered a neck x-ray and it showed I had several lower levels with disc bulges and degeneration. He explained to me that disc bulges can actually be worse than they appear since MRI/CT scans are taken lying down when the pressure is off the discs. He explained that compressed discs (bulges) will allow some nerve tissue to be pinched and possible even reduce the cerebral spinal fluid flow out of my head, raising the pressure in my skull. He said if we decompress the discs and get the ligaments/muscles to relax and get good movement in the neck joints my headache would most likely improve. You were so right!"
